Job Description

The Recovery Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the recovery team in the branch to achieve collection targets. The primary focus of this role is to recover default loans that are overdue for more than 365 days. The supervisor will take direct action to ensure the timely recovery of these loans by visiting defaulter borrowers in the field. This position requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills to manage a team, negotiate repayment plans, and ensure that collection procedures comply with the company’s policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Loan Recovery:

  • Supervise the recovery of legacy loans that are more than 365 days overdue.
  • Monitor clients with late payments in arrears and take action as required.
  • Establish and maintain effective contact with defaulting debtors.
  • Implement debt collection procedures to recover unpaid installments.
  • Negotiate with clients who are facing genuine difficulties in repaying and agree on new payment schedules.

Reporting & Coordination:

  • Liaise regularly with the Recovery Manager/Branch Manager to report on recovery progress and discuss challenging cases.
  • Report to management on the recovery team’s performance and suggest improvements for recovery processes.
  • Ensure that recovery procedures are in alignment with the policies and regulations of Mutahid DFI.

Field Work:

  • Visit defaulter borrowers in the field regularly to recover overdue loans.
  • Ensure that repayment receipts from the field are handled with the official receipts book.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with clients during recovery efforts.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and supervise the recovery team to meet set recovery targets.
  • Foster a positive working environment within the team, encouraging collaboration and high performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the team’s performance and provide necessary coaching and support.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that all recovery activities are in line with the Mutahid DFI policies and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical practices and maintain the integrity of the institution during recovery processes.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or Economics (required)
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 4-6 years of work experience in banking or microfinance, specifically in recovery or collections.
    • At least 2 years of experience in management or staff supervision.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong negotiation and business management skills.
    • High-level customer service orientation and a willingness to work in the field.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
    • Fluency in the local/regional language (Pashto/Dari), with a working knowledge of English.
