Scholarship Description
Full Description about SBW-Berlin Scholarship
The SBW Berlin Scholarship for International Students is designed to support young individuals from abroad who are not only academically talented but also passionate about social commitment and making a positive impact in their home countries. The scholarship covers the tuition fees and living expenses for students who wish to study in Berlin and work on social projects during their studies. This scholarship is part of a broader initiative to foster international cooperation and development, encouraging students to apply their knowledge and skills to improve the social conditions in their countries.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong desire to contribute to charitable causes either in Germany or in their home country. During their studies in Berlin, scholarship recipients are expected to engage in social projects related to their field of study and collaborate with non-profit organizations. Ideally, these projects should be directly tied to the development needs of their home countries and aim to make a sustainable impact.
The scholarship recipients are required to work on these social projects for approximately 2 to 8 hours per week. SBW Berlin provides continuous support and guidance to the students, ensuring that their projects progress successfully. After the completion of their studies, scholarship recipients are expected to continue their social work for at least 18 months in their home countries or contribute to charitable activities in Germany. In return, SBW Berlin offers ongoing advisory support, helping students maintain and expand their projects.
SBW Berlin's primary goal is to contribute to the development of the recipient's home country by equipping them with knowledge, skills, and experience gained in Berlin. It is a platform for socially-conscious students who want to combine academic pursuits with meaningful, hands-on community involvement.
In addition to financial support, scholarship recipients will have access to various resources, including workshops, networking opportunities, and guidance from experienced mentors. The program also encourages students to build strong connections with the local and international non-profit sector.
This scholarship is open to international students from countries that are in need of development assistance. Applicants must demonstrate their commitment to social work through prior volunteer or professional experience in the non-profit sector. The SBW Berlin Scholarship is not just about receiving financial aid; it’s about creating opportunities for students to make a real difference, both in their studies and their future professional endeavors.
Key features of the scholarship include:
- Financial support for tuition fees and living expenses
