Requirements

Requirements for the Italian Government Scholarship 2025-2026:

Language Requirements:

• For Master's and AFAM (Arts, Music, and Dance) programs taught in English: Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level (CEFR).
• For Italian Language and Culture courses: Proficiency in Italian at a minimum A2 level (CEFR).
• For PhD programs or Research Projects: Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level).

Age Limit:

• Master's programs: Applicants must be under 28 years old by the deadline.
• PhD programs: Applicants must be under 30 years old by the deadline.
• Research Projects under academic supervision: Applicants must be under 40 years old by the deadline.

Educational Qualifications:

• For Master's programs: Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree in their home country.
• For PhD programs: Applicants must meet the entry requirements of the chosen university and provide a letter of acceptance from the Italian university.
• For Research Projects: Applicants must have a research proposal approved by an Italian research institution.

Nationality:

• The scholarship is open to foreign students who are not residing in Italy at the time of application.

Health and Medical Insurance:

• All grantees will be covered by health and medical/accident insurance for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Proof of Educational Qualifications:

• Master's Applicants: A completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• PhD Applicants: A letter of acceptance from the Italian university or proof of academic qualifications meeting the PhD admission requirements.

Research Proposal (for Research Projects):

• If applying for research grants, submit a research proposal approved by an Italian research institution.

Health and Medical Insurance:

• Proof of valid health and medical/accident insurance coverage for the duration of your scholarship (if applicable).
